Lesson Terms & Conditions
Lessons are provided on a weekly basis – a regular weekly lesson spot will be allocated to you. The tuition fee pays for your scheduled time, related teaching costs, lesson preparation time, lesson materials, plus access to any events that we may arrange.
Lessons are payable in advance for the whole month via bank transfer and due by the 28th of the preceding month. A prompt payment is required for lessons to proceed, otherwise your lesson spot may be released to another student.
Refunds are not issued for cancelled lessons. Make-up lessons will only be offered at the discretion of the teacher and in exceptional circumstances, i.e. illness, family bereavement. There can be a maximum of five rescheduled lessons in one calendar year.
If more than two lessons are missed within the space of one month then your lesson spot will be released to students on the waiting list. Lesson fees cannot be carried over into the following month. Skype lessons are offered for covering weather or travel issues.
If I have to cancel a lesson, a replacement lesson will be offered within the same calendar month. If we are unable to find a mutually agreeable time then I will offer a refund.
Lesson fees are subject to an annual review at the beginning of September. Any changes to fees will be communicated one month in advance.
Students are expected to attend regularly and punctually at the agreed time. Lessons cannot be extended into the next students lesson due to lateness.
I expect students to commit to regular practise time in order to make their lessons worthwhile (don’t forget, you’re doing this because it’s fun and practise time can be fun too!)
Cooling Off Period
A two week cooling off period is allowed for new students who do not wish to continue lessons and a refund will be issued for any lessons not taken during the first month.
Lessons are provided on a rolling monthly contract and therefore one months notice is required if a student wishes to leave. If no such notice is given, an administration charge of £50 will be issued.
