Rhodes have released their Anthology plug-in, featuring four iconic instruments meticulously sampled by the team. This easy-to-use plug-in includes the effects that we have become familiar with from the V8 software, plus speaker cab and mic options, allowing for lots of fine-tuning of the sound. Being able to adjust velocity was an added bonus since the plug-in was tested using a lower-end controller.

The four instruments on offer are the Sparkletop, Mark 1, Mark V and Mark 7, with the indication that more will be made available in the future. Rhodes has captured the characteristics of these instruments beautifully and as the demos below will indicate, each emulation will be better suited to a particular style of music. The Mark 1 is instantly identifiable as the iconic jazz-funk era instrument that was popular with keyboardist such as Stevie Wonder, Patrice Rushen and Herbie Hancock. You can achieve the subtle bell-like sound of the Mark 7 or the more raspy tones of the Mark V, enhanced when you dial in some overdrive, a sound reminiscent of Chick Corea.

The demos below cycle through all four models in order, for a side-by-side comparison.

The Rhodes Anthology is available as a demo for 14 days and is also currently available at 30% off as an introductory offer.
