A Natural minor Scale

Am is also referred to as A Natural minor.

The Natural minor scale is made up of the intervals Root-Tone-Semitone-Tone-Tone-Semitone-Tone-Tone.

The scale of Am is made up of the notes A B C D E F G.

You might notice that this scale has the same notes as C Major, so it’s referred to as the relative minor of C Major. It’s also known as the A Aeolian scale (see modal scales).

Am Scale With Suggested Fingering

Learn to play scales with two hands together for two octaves.

Start with your right hand as close as possible to Middle C and your left hand one octave lower.

If you are a beginner, start by playing each hand individually for just one octave.
